Johnson Bulge Removed!

Alright, don't get too excited. Steve had his bulging disc fixed in surgery yesterday. What did you think I meant? He is doing great. Sitting around a hospital all day although entertaining sure makes you thankful for your health. I made up names for the characters in the waiting room. There was the loud mouth PTA mom who could answer every surgical question you might have. She even instructed her daughter with the correct phrasing to use when answering the waiting room phone. This lady was accomanied by her posse family who had all been there since 5:30 am. One of the offspring was at the courtesy computer communicating with her facebook friends, grandma was knitting in the corner and the bored teens were back and forth to the vending machine for sustenance to make it through the wait. PTA mom was showing all new comers how to read the surgical board and who to call to check on patients. Meanwhile the dejected senior volunteer sat by looking as if she had been cut from the team. Then there was the loud cell phone talker guy who was calling everyone he knew to update them on the progress of his wife's surgical procedure, while also inadvertently informing the whole waiting room and anyone who might be in the hall. Then there was the senior coffee clutch in the corner comparing crochet stitches on various projects and talking about the culinary offerings in the cafeteria. All in all a very entertaining place!

I'm Gonna Be A Grandma!!

We are sooooo Excited!!! However we must be too young to be grandparents. Yeah, right in our heads!!! The body tells us different. I don't want to be called grandma so I am trying to come up with something different to distinguish me from the other 8 sets this little angel will have. What do you think? I want something that suits my personality. I am open to suggestions! Oh, and Steve will be a Grandpa too!! Please leave comments!!

Funny but True

A friend sent me to this link the other day, I thought it was hilarious. Of course I was raised when the advice given in this video was common sense. We had no other options. I think I could write a book on ways to save money and do things as cheap as possible as I have been living this way since childhood. Anyway, hope you enjoy this! Leave me your comments!

30 Year Class Reunion!!!

I can't believe it has been 30 years!! Went to my class reunion with my best friend from high school Maureen. I was soooo nervous!! I don't know why. We looked at each other and said "What do we have to be nervous about? We're still alive, have good lives, and are nice people!" So we made our way into the hotel. "Who are all these old people? Certainly this can't be our class reunion!!" Wrong!! As we looked at the name tags a glimmer of recognition started. What to say? So original "So, do you live around here?, Do you have children?, What do you do for a living?" then there is always this awkward silence as you try to conjure up some fun memory from the past to re-link you together. I did get to see my friend Doug who was my neighbor and our class president. He and I walked together at graduation, and my friend Karen who has MS and is now in a wheel chair. I wished I could see a lot of these people more often because sharing those growing up years is a bigger part of your life than you realize. Well, I am going to make a very big effort to get together with my friends and make new memories together!!
